Privacy policy.

Lishe Grow Foundation is a registered non-governmental organization in Kenya. This policy explains what personal information we collect through lishegrow.org, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us:
- The contact form: your name, email address, the topic you choose, your message and, for partnership enquiries, your organization.
- Email: anything you include when you write to us.
- WhatsApp: your phone number, profile name and the messages you send if you chat with us. WhatsApp is run by Meta under its own privacy policy.
We don't take payments on this website, so we never collect card, M-Pesa or bank details through it.
What is collected automatically
We don't use analytics, advertising trackers or tracking cookies. Two services see basic technical information when you visit, because your browser connects to them directly:
- Cloudflare hosts this website. It processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks.
- Google Fonts supplies the site's typefaces. Google receives your IP address when your browser loads them.
The contact form also uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is sending it. It looks at technical signals from your browser for that check only, without tracking cookies or advertising.
How we use it
- To reply to your message and follow up on what you asked about.
- To arrange a donation or partnership you've asked about.
- To keep a record of our conversations.
- To keep this website secure and working.
We rely on your consent when you contact us, and on our legitimate interest in running the foundation and this website. We won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run this website and our email, and only so they can provide that service, or when the law requires us to.
Where it is stored
Some of our service providers store information on servers outside Kenya. Where that happens, we use providers that protect it to a standard consistent with Kenyan law.
How long we keep it
We keep your messages for as long as we need them to respond and to keep a record of our work together, then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
Keeping it safe
The website is served over an encrypted connection, and only the people who handle enquiries can read your messages. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
Your rights
Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your information;
- stop using your information for a particular purpose;
- give you a copy of your information.
Email us to make a request and we'll respond promptly. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner at odpc.go.ke.
Children
This website is meant for adults. If you're under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
